Texas Border Crisis | Mexico-United States Border

Governor Abbott's Declares An Invasion At The Texas Border

The Texas border crisis is a pressing issue requiring bold and necessary actions. Governor Greg Abbott has been taking appropriate steps to address the situation, many of which can be further found under Operation Lone Star. His approach, potentially setting the stage for invoking Article 4, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution, demands our attention and support. I am a Native Texan and I lived knowing the dangers of living in a border state. Today, I am concerned for my family and community. I believe it’s crucial to address the pressing issue of immigration and border security.

Texas Border Patrol

In recent months, Governor Abbott has taken significant steps to address the surge of undocumented immigrants. Operation Lone Star, a key initiative, has deployed state troopers and National Guard forces to our border. This operation is not just about immigration; it’s a direct response to the increasing activities of Mexican cartels and smugglers. The arrests made during this operation underscore the urgent nature of this crisis.

Abbott’s declaration of a disaster across 34 counties highlights the extent of the issue, affecting not just border counties but all of Texas. Though met with criticism, these actions are rooted in a deep concern for our state’s security and sovereignty.

Communications President Biden

Governor Abbott has clarified that the federal response to this situation has been insufficient. Despite personally handing letters clearly describing the situation to President Biden and highlighting the severity of the problem, Gov Abbott has yet to receive a response. This silence from the federal government is concerning, considering the scale of the issue at hand.

Why All Voters Should Care

This is not just a political issue; border security impacts the safety and well-being of every Texan. The unchecked influx of undocumented immigrants and the activities of drug cartels pose real and present threats to each individual within Texas. In the fiscal year 2023, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents seized a record 12,119 kilograms (26,718 pounds) of illicit fentanyl along the southwest border with Mexico. This staggering amount represents a nearly 90% increase from the previous fiscal year, where 6,397 kilograms (14,104 pounds) of fentanyl were seized. It’s crucial to note that these figures include seizures across the entire U.S.-Mexico border, not just the Texas portion. Such alarming statistics highlight the urgent need for robust border security measures.

I urge voters to recognize the importance of supporting initiatives that prioritize our state’s security and well-being. The well-being of our communities and the future of our great state depend on our collective action to address these critical issues.

Stand With Governor Abbott

As a Candidate for the Texas House of Representatives, District 97, my stance firmly aligns with Governor Abbott’s position when it comes to the border crisis. We must uphold strong border security and take decisive actions to safeguard Texas, all border states, and the entire United States. The current liberal administration’s approach to border security falls short of addressing the magnitude of these challenges. This is not just a Texas issue; it’s a national concern. Texans must advocate for effective and robust border security measures and set an example for the rest of the country.

Governor Abbott’s groundwork for potentially invoking Article 4, Section 4, is a testament to his commitment to Texas. His actions, though controversial, are aimed at protecting our state in the face of continued federal inaction. As Texans, we are responsible for supporting measures that ensure our safety and uphold our values. I stand with Governor Abbott and encourage all voters to consider the importance of a secure Texas Border
